Asgari Receives Yates Dissertation Fellowship

headshot of Morteza AsgariMorteza Asgari is a recipient of the 2021-2022 Yates Dissertation Fellowship, which is awarded to the most promising graduate and professional students at the University of Tennessee.

Asgari is a graduate research assistant in the Upper Limb Assist Lab and is advised by Assistant Professor Dustin Crouch.

His research is focused on using computational tools and experiments to better understand the underlying mechanisms that neuro-musculoskeletal system uses to regulate the upper limb impedance, and use that knowledge for development of an assistive device that enhances limb stability in people with shoulder disabilities.

The Yates Fellowship was established to encourage, recognize, and support outstanding graduate students who are completing their dissertation.
