MaryAnne Nguyen wins Best Student Paper at SMASIS

BME Ph.D. student MaryAnne Nguyen works in the Bioinspired Materials and Transduction Laboratory that is directed by MABE Assistant Professor Dr. Andy Sarles.

She won a Best Student Paper award in the Bioinspired Smart Materials Symposium at last week’s ASME Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures, and Intelligent Systems (SMASIS) Conference in Newport, RI.

Her award-winning paper is entitled “Micro-encapsulation and tuning of biomolecular unit cell networks.”

Nguyen was recognized at a banquet that was held September 9.
