Tony Schmitz, Professor and ORNL Joint Faculty in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering, was recently awarded a visiting professorship at Technical University Wien in Vienna, Austria. The visiting professorship funds a portion of Schmitz’s time to collaborate with TU Wien faculty and students in advanced manufacturing. The financial support is provided by the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation to encourage collaboration between US and Austrian university faculty.
The professorship starts immediately and will last five years.
