Aniirudh Ramesh (PhD mechanical engineering ’25) was awarded first place at the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation’s fall 2024 Vol Court.
Vol Court is a four-week entrepreneurial speaker series that culminates in a 90-second business idea pitch competition. Ramesh, a graduate research assistant, was awarded $1,500 for his successful pitch about ASTERS, an AI-powered decision support system that mitigates active-shooter scenarios that he co-founded.
Participating students put what they learned in the speaker series into practice by pitching their business ideas to a panel of successful entrepreneurs.
“It’s truly a great honor to get a platform to distill a complex idea into an information-dense, 90-second pitch,” Ramesh said. “This invaluable training — coupled with the prize money — will significantly advance our efforts in bringing our technology to market.”
